Flip Chart

I created a flip chart for this song and I am loving all the great pictures I found. The picture on the left is my favorite! This year our primary and youth will sing this song together. So I printed the first verse on purple carstock for primary and then printed the chorus white (since they will all sing together) and then yellow for the second verse for the youth and then white for the chorus again. I thought P's and Y's. P= Purple and Primary, Y=Yellow and Young Men and Young Women. So hopefully it helps add an extra visual cue for when we perform this song. I use the flip chart even when we perform to help those who may get nervous or still struggle with the words. I made the words large enough to be seen pretty far back too. They are all about 100 font. As a tip, if you are viewing this from your phone, click the three dots in the upper left hand corner and select "print layout" for easier viewing. You can access the flip chart here:

ASL Hand Motions

I also created ASL/Hand Motions for this song. I like to use simplified ASL so even my youngest primary members can easily follow along. So I don't sign every word, but the main ideas. In the video you will see the whole song first, and then I break it apart into chunks to make it easier to learn. Please feel free to adjust the signs to fit your needs. Whatever works for you will work best for your primary!

I also created a cute handout that you could give to your primary/youth that are learning this song. I plan to give it out this week since it is our first week practicing so they have a chance to practice it at home before our next time. I used tootsie pops and blow pops for the sucker but you could also use Dum Dums. The cape is made by taping tissue paper to the bottom of the sucker. You basically cut out a triangle with a squared top, then add a piece of tape to it. Then you tap it to the bottom of the sucker with the cape facing up. Once the tape is on, you fold the cape down. Just make sure your tape is a little longer than the top in case you need extra to fully wrap it around. I also just added a yellow dot with a drawn smile for the face. I put tape over the sticker so it doesn't fall off. Here is that file in case you need it:

That's all I have on this for now! Thanks for stopping by! Happy singing!
