Flip Chart
I created a flip chart for this song that has the words large enough for them to also see it if you are performing in sacrament. I personally don't like big posters, but love the idea that kids who don't come as often can still see the words if they need it. When we practice on Sundays, I print them on cardstock and tape them back to back accordian style. I do this so they can fold up and fit easily in a pocket folder in my binder. I label the verse or chorus on the bottom so I know quickly how to attach it to the board with magnets. I love to display them on a board so my hands are free to lead them with hand motions or fun instruments. I usually just do one verse taped together and the chorus is a taped section. It fills the board well and those in the back can see the words too. I tend to put them up before everyone comes into primary to save me even more time. During the actual program, I lead with my hands while my husband (or a presidency member) flips the chart in a 3 ring binder. It works really well! As a tip, if you are viewing this from your phone, click the three dots in the upper left hand corner and select "print layout" for easier viewing. You can access the flip chart here:
I also did a version that has the chorus only one time, in case you prefer that. Here is that version:
Straws
I created a video using straws for all 3 verses of this song. The previous chorister in my ward, Heather Daybell, had taught us this song using straws during Covid when we were doing singing time virtually. It really helped my family learn the words quickly. So when I saw that this was the song of the month, I went to youtube to find out how to do it again. I discovered a video with only one verse, but nothing with all the verses. So I watched her video from during covid and replicated it. I hope you enjoy it! I also found it was easier to teach myself the actions if I had a cheat sheet, so I created drawings of each of the actions. The green straw is the one that represents you and the orange straw represents Christ. When I do it with the kids, I have a colored straw for them and a white straw for Jesus. It helps if they know which straw is them and which straw is Jesus. Hopefully this helps you out too!
Here are those cheat sheets:
That's all for now! I hope it is helpful to you and your primary. Happy singing!
