If The Savior Stood Beside Me

Updated: Feb 25, 2023

Flip Chart

This week I made a flip chart for this song. I am exicited to share it with you and my primary too. Last week, I did the shadow box without a flip chart and I wished I had posted it to help the teachers sing along a little more. So now I will have it for the future! Yay! Here is the link in case you find it helpful as well.

Shadow Box

This week the come follow me lesson is on being the light of the world. It references this scripture "Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven." Matthew 5:14-16. As I read this scripture, I had an idea to turn the song "If the Savior Stood Beside Me" into a shadow box singing time. I love how it turned out. You can see the example below with instructions on how to make it as well:

I will add that I forgot to mention that the image with the Savior and little girl looking at her near the end, I did take a sharpie to outline it a bit more so it would stand out. But it didn't take me too long. I created a free printable so you can print the images out to make your own. In the video, I mention that all the completely black images I printed on cardstock to make them more durable. The black and white images were printed on normal paper so the light would shine through better. Here is the document in case you want to do this activity as well:

I did type out each part of the song under the image it goes with to make sure it made sense. As I cut them out, I pulled out the document and numbered the images on the back so that I can just put them back in order easily. I hope you enjoy this fun activity! I can't wait to share it with my primary tomorrow.

I also created a printable with an image of Jesus Christ and the scripture too. You can access that one here:

I am also planning to create a flip chart and other fun activities, so I will update this post as I come up with more ideas. Happy singing :)
