Flip Chart

Here is my flip chart for this song. I hope you like it. I like to make the words super large so I can use them in Sacrament Meeting too. I also love to print mine on cardstock so I don't need to use sheet protectors. This helps avoid the glare and I can use a three hole punch if using it in a binder. For Singing Time, I put mine side by side together using two small pieces of tape between each page and store them by verse or chorus folded acordian style. This makes it super easy to put on the board quickly when I come into primary so my hands are free. You can access and print this free flip chart by clicking on the link below:

Scarves

I created motions for scarf movement last week. I really enjoyed teaching the kids about how to remember where to find the scripture "Yea, behold, I will tell you in your mind and in your heart, but the Holy Ghost, which shall come up on you and which shall dwell in your heart." So during the bridge it says "Sometimes the answer takes time, so I'll listen with heart and mind." And we made a figure 8 symbol around our head and our heart to help them remember they can find that scripture in Doctrine & Covenants 8. Give the video a watch in the link below. Hopefully your primary enjoys it as much as mine did. You can also use ribbon wands or ribbon rings with these movements if you don't have scarves.

Shadow Box

In December, this sweet brother in our ward gave me such a special gift. He bore his testimony and thanked me for all I do in Primary. He mentioned a memory of awhile ago (it may have even been almost a year) when I used the shadow box and he said how much it engaged the children and he said that he loves all I do. Then he said, "God bless Virginia Richins." Of course I was totally blushing, but it also meant so much. Anyway, his story reminded me just how much the kids love the shadow box so I had to create one for this song. It was so fun introducing the First Vision by talking about how Joseph had a question and went to pray and then suddenly a pillar of light descended. When I told them that, I turned on my super bright light and the surprise from the kids was awesome. Check out my video below to see how I did it with the images.

I had so much fun creating these AI images to make the beautiful scenes. My light is quite bright so it worked really well, but you could even cut parts out to make it shine easier if your light isn't as bright as mine. Be sure to watch to the end of the video for lots of tips for creating your own Shadow box. Also, the link below to print out the images for free. I actually put the words on the back of most of them and numbered the backs in pencil so I can easily do it multiple times in a row. I hope you enjoy it!

I have done this song using hand motions as well! I will work to make a video of them soon! Stay tuned :)
