Flip Chart
Here is my flip chart for this song. I like to make the words super large so I can use them in Sacrament Meeting too. I hope you like it. I also love to print mine on cardstock so I don't need to use sheet protectors. This helps avoid the glare. I put mine back together using two small pieces of tape between each page and store them by verse or chorus folded acordian style. This makes it super easy to put on the board quickly when I come into primary so my hands are free. You can access and print this free flip chart by clicking on the link below:
Hot and Cold
One week we focused on how Lehi and his family searched for the Liahona and how it guided them to the promised land. I used a 3D Printed Liahona and a toy palm tree. One child would go outside the Primary Room while another child hid the palm tree (to represent the promised land). Once the palm tree was hidden, we let the child outside the room come in holding the Liahona while they searched for the palm tree. We would sing louder as they were closer and quiter as they were further away. The kids loved this and our Liahona. I am thinking we will have to do this game a few times this year!
Hand Motions
I also did a mix of ASL and hand motions to this song. I started teaching it last week and it was fun explaining the ASL words to the kids. I got most of the ASL signs from the church website. You can watch the video start to finish and then see me break it down for easier learning. Check it out here:
Rhythm Sticks
I created a rhythm stick video for this song too. I use more action style with my rhythm sticks to help them feel the beat while encouraging them to learn the words. Check it out below:
I will likely add more to this blog as I come up with more ideas. So stay tuned!
