Here is a flip chart I made for the full version of the song "The Miracle." This one has all three verses and I am excited to share it with my primary kiddos. I just did the main words for the third verse instead of splittling them into two parts to make it easier on me and the primary kids too. Hopefully it is helpful to you. You can access this free printable flip chart by clicking the link below:
I also had someone request I do a flip chart with the changed words, and someone request a portrait style flip chart for this song. So I updated the flip chart with both those edits, in case anyone else needs it. Here it is:
Straws
I had a request from Camille Ricks on my YouTube channel to come up with straw movements for this song. I really appreciated her suggestion and found it super fun to do this song with straws. I ended up teaching it to my primary kiddos last week and they loved it. The Spirit was so strong as we sang it and the straws allowed them to be wiggly and reverent. Check out my video below to see how to sing it with straws.
Block Poster Memorization
I love doing the activity where you print up a picture and turn it into a puzzle memorization game. I discovered this awesome website awhile back called blockposters.com You basically upload a picture and it will turn it into a printable huge poster! I just search for images from the church website so they are larger files. For this song, I chose a picture of Christ coming out of the tomb. I edited my flip chart to fit on the back of the poster so I could just print the poster,
print my flip chart, and laminate the pages together. You could also just glue them together or put them in sheet protectors and cut off the holes to make it look cleaner. The idea for this game is that you have just the words showing. And after you sing through the song once, you pick helpers to come flip over parts of the song to start to reveal the picture. Since this is a longer song, I plan to tell the teachers to watch their class as we sing, and pick one child to be my helper after we sing. Each class will have one helper come up each time to flip a page over. If we sing it through and run short on time, sometimes I just have extra helpers for the last time so we sing it without any words. This game works on memorization, but also helps us sing the song over and over again which is nice the week before we perform it. You will notice that some of the words on the flip chart are diffferent colors, this was just to help save me on pages. The red words are the chorus, so we just go back to the chorus after each verse. The green words is the extra line that you sing after the chorus on the third verse. Here is the file if you would like to print your own poster:
And here is my modified flip chart in case you would like to print that as well:
I plan to come up with lots more ideas for this song. So stay tuned for more :)
